SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS
In the US there are restrictions that vary by state and municipality on where Byrna products can be carried or used, markings that may be required, and other issues. Each customer is responsible for checking the law in his or her own state and municipality.
The shipping restrictions set forth below apply only to direct to consumer e-commerce sales and may not apply to sales by authorized local dealers in those states.
BYRNA MAX RESTRICTIONS:
At this time, we do not ship any Byrna Max product to New York, Wisconsin, Michigan or California.
BYRNA PEPPER RESTRICTIONS:
At this time, we do not ship any Byrna Pepper Projectiles to *California or New York.
Byrna has been approved by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a licensed training provider (see course here - Link). Interpretation of CA State Law indicates that our course and certification meets the requirements to allow California residents to be qualified to purchase chemical agents. BYRNA LESS-LETHAL 12 GAUGE AMMO RESTRICTIONS:
We are unable to ship the Less Lethal 12 Gauge Round directly into the following states - CA, NY, DC, CT, IL, MA, NJ, PR, HI or AK.

We ship to California the TCR-Tactical Compact Rifle, Mission 4 rifle, and Byrna KINETIC launchers and kits. They only contain Kinetic Solid and Eco Kinetic projectiles. They do not contain the chemical rounds. We cant ship ANY products to San Francisco. We can ship MAX or PEPPER projectiles and PEPPER KITS to California if you complete the CA Chemical Certification course found here: https://byrna.com/products/byrna-ca-course-security-guard-and-chemical-agent-certification. The Byrna is legal in all 50 states, however, certain states place restrictions on the “pepper” and “tear gas” ammo. In addition, certain municipalities place restrictions on CO2 powered weapons such as the Byrna. Please see "Shipping Restrictions" .
No. The Byrna should never be pointed or fired at the head, neck or back whether it is loaded or not (except in self-defense if you fear for your life). Even when the Byrna is empty the force of the gas at close range, could cause serious injury or death.
While the use of a Byrna for self-defense is generally legal, as with any weapon, the determination of self-defense is case specific and fact dependent. Additionally, certain municipalities prohibit the use of CO2 fired weapons such as the Byrna. Use of the Byrna in restricted areas may subject you to civil and criminal penalties, including incarceration.
Use of the Byrna offensively or in furtherance of a crime is always illegal and may subject you to civil and criminal penalties, including incarceration.
Like any other weapon, be it a hammer, knife or baseball bat, the Byrna should never be brandished or used in a threatening or menacing manner, except as necessary in the defense of oneself or others.
No. While the Byrna uses the same basic technology as a paintball gun, it is much more powerful than a standard paintball gun and will often cause a paintball to rupture upon firing. This could damage your Byrna. For this reason, you should not use the Byrna for paintball and using it with incompatible non-Byrna projectiles or CO2 canisters will void your warranty.
The Byrna is available in a number of colors including Safety Orange and Less-Lethal Yellow to indicate that you are using a less-lethal weapon. Police are familiar with the meaning of these colors and they themselves will only carry the Orange or Yellow Byrnas. If you purchase one of our other colors, the Byrna may be mistake for a firearm. This is intentional.
The form factor of the Byrna is, in and of itself, a deterrent. Many Byrna owners have stopped a mugging, car jacking or home invasion, simply by presenting the Byrna.
The Byrna is intended only for recreation, training or self-defense. It should never be drawn in situations where police are present to offer assistance.

Damaged Products Policy*
Byrna® launchers, Byrna Shields™, Byrna Banshees™ and Byrna launcher accessories and projectiles that are damaged or defective when received will be replaced at no charge to the customer provided that a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is requested within ten (10) days of receipt and the product is return shipped within five (5) days of documented notification.
*This policy provides for replacement of goods that arrive damaged or defective upon inspection with new products at no cost to the customer. Defects or operational issues that arise after this period will be repaired in accordance with our standard limited factory warranty. See warranty information included with product.
Change of Heart Policy
We understand that from time to time a customer has a change of heart after placing an order. Any order cancelled before shipping will be refunded in full. Returns of shipped products are accepted if Byrna is notified within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the product. Returned merchandise must be in the original packaging and in new and unused condition. All “change of heart” returns are subject to a restocking fee of 10% which will cover shipping and handling costs.

Welcome to LIVE SAFE TEXAS. In April of 2021, I purchased my first Byrna HD launcher. The second I had it in my hands, I knew this non-lethal self defense pistol was going to create a stir. I was a true believer in Byrna and what it stood for...Live Safe, prepared to defend. So, when Byrna offered me a dealership, I went all in. Operating out of Omaha, TX, you can find me in person at "First Monday Trade Days", in Canton, TX. Pavillion 4500, space 4408.
